The zigzag indicator is used to measure primary price movements that occur in the direction of the primary trend. Primary price movements do not recover a portion of the previous movement, and pass by the previous correction low or high. Most analysts who use the Fibonacci sequence and Elliott wave, design the length of the reduction or increase, multiplying by a certain ratio of the previous recovery.

I like ZigZag to help myself with finding major and minor lower lows and lower highs as well as higher lows and higher highs.
