The Ronin Network was hacked and lost a whopping 615 million US dollars. The perpetrators made off with that sum in a relatively short time, committing one of the largest crypto heists in history, maybe even the largest cryptocurrency heist in history.
The Ronin Network was apparently hacked on March 23rd, and the hackers stole 173,000 ETH and 25 million USD coins. At the time of the theft that sum amounted to 540 million USD, but its current value is the eye-watering 615 million USD. According to Ronin’s own announcement, the hackers gained access to the crypto funds by stealing the passwords gatekeeping the coins.
