I find 15 minute timeframe to be the best balance of both worlds. Not too fast like scalping, and not too long that you can assess your position quickly, if it turns around.

Indicators based on price action can be a useful addition to your system. However, every system will have its pros and cons.

Mt5 has been around for a while, and it is nowhere close to replacing mt4 as the more popular platform. For now, use it. IN future, when the need arises, tools for mt5 will appear.
