A scalper mostly prefers lower spreads for scalping to have the advantage of predicting the right price value. Spreads can also differ depending on the currency pair and the time frames as well.
In my opinion, I must say it's FP Markets because I have traded using high volatile currency pairs like EURUSD; their spreads have been consistent & stable for most parts of my trades.
Older brokers are better because they have over five years of trading business experience due to their reputation.
For example, brokers like FP Markets and ICM have been in the forex business for over ten years with a good reputation.
I have traded with IC, and now I'm with FP Markets. From my personal experience with both brokers, I would say they both have good spreads and trading conditions.
The only drawback with ICM was their customer support, which is very bad and one of the main reasons I switched to FP Markets.
