Have a look at « Virtual Dealer Plug-In » if you never heard about broker manipulation. MT4 (and MT5 very likely too) can be easily manipulated, but others platforms might be manipulated too... At the end, it is more dependend on the broker than the platform. So choose your broker wisely.
I never have a goal. I enter when I see a good trade opportunity when I trade manually, and if there is none, there is none. Having a goal but a market you can’t trade will lead to overtrading too, for sure. And having a good and an exceptionnaly good market and you will miss good opportunity...
Having leverage is never bad. Taking too much risk because you have a high leverage and don’t know anything about risk management might however lead to blow your account.
In other words : it’s not bad, doesn’t mean it should be used.
