MT5 is faster than MT4. It doesn't slow down your platform. It is a fully fledged 64-bit, multi-threaded platform, whilst MT4 is a 32-bit, mono-threaded platform with a 2GB (or a 4GB memory limit if you use it on a 64-bit operating system).
