MT4 and MT5 almost don't have any differencies with each other but if you trade stocks then you can only trade it with MetaTrader 5 as I think. You can use MT4 for Forex, some Futures and trade Bitcoin, Litecoin (maybe). On MT5 you can trade stocks (as I said), forex, futures, cryptocurrencies

I think you need restart your MT4 or better delete it and download it again from broker's website

Here you can download TSR 2019 version. Attach it to the chart and do forward test with demo account

If you want to trade stocks, many cryptocurrencies, Futures, you can use MT5. If you want to trade Forex, Major cryptocurrencies, some Futures you can use MT4

Just need to remove the indicators
