Thanks for the info ChanMat, yeah i was worried about that FTMO could and probably do tweak their server/account settings to hinder EA users. I do think that some EA's will still be ok though. I am running a few at the moment, and they seem ok'ish, I am trying to find some that dont open/close...
Running back-test/demo; seems very good however i see that it opens/deletes lots of buy stop and sell stop orders.
So i am not sure how that would work on a live account as i dont know the rules of how many buy/sell stop orders you can have, probably a max of 100/200 with FIFO rules.
Perhaps...
hmm, well i loaded it like my other EA's, then used the setfile that was given, GU on 15min, ran on strategytester, but no trades were opened...
Hi folks, I am currently testing a few EA's at the moment with a future goal of using an EA for the FTMO challenge.
I was hoping that some of you could help me with my project.
I dont want to run an EA on the FTMO server that open loads of trades at very fast speeds and then try to close them...
Always a great idea to log your activity, but remember to note your emotions/how you were feeling during that session.
Helps to improve and to protect you from over-trading and revenge trading. Remember your emotions are just as important as your risk management.
I always have a S/L, as previously metioned its for risk/cash management and also a way of telling you that your analysis or strategy was wrong this time.
There will be times when you lose or have losing streaks, its normal, and by having stop loss in place protects you.
Remember to take a loss...
Hi folks, new member here looking for help concerning EA's.
I am currently interested in testing EA's but I would like to test only non-martingale/grid EA's.
I prefer lower risk/dd than having multiple positions opened at one time etc.
Could you please let me know of any working non-martingale...
Thanks for a great post, I am interested in EA's. I get a little worried when i see 'martingale/grid' type EA's, anyone have a few non-martingale type EA's that are working for them?
Of course the holy grail does not exist but an EA making steady gains with low DD and non-martingale would tickle...
My approach would be to think in terms of risk.
Ask yourself 'how much am I willing to lose'; and remember you must always accept the fact and be comfortable with losing.
Let's say you ok risking 1% of your account with a potential trade setup, then you have the amount in cash and therefore you...
Good article, thanks. If you use tradingview, there is a candlestick indicator in the list. I think you could use that and choose which patterns you would like to see on your chart and then check history for a potential candlestick strategy.
Agree with your post. Sadly we live in a world where people want results straight away, they see these fake youtube traders and insta-traders with green lambo's.
Test your strategy/system, then test it again, and then on a demo account with small lot size, etc etc
Be patient, respect your...
Yes they are, but you have to patient and trust your system. There will always be losing trades, but in the long-run your strategy will be profitable.
But where a lot of traders fail, is in the risk/money management side of things. Its good to have a winning strategy but you need a losing...
