Thanks for the info ChanMat, yeah i was worried about that FTMO could and probably do tweak their server/account settings to hinder EA users. I do think that some EA's will still be ok though. I am running a few at the moment, and they seem ok'ish, I am trying to find some that dont open/close...

Running back-test/demo; seems very good however i see that it opens/deletes lots of buy stop and sell stop orders. So i am not sure how that would work on a live account as i dont know the rules of how many buy/sell stop orders you can have, probably a max of 100/200 with FIFO rules. Perhaps...

hmm, well i loaded it like my other EA's, then used the setfile that was given, GU on 15min, ran on strategytester, but no trades were opened...:unsure:

seems to run well on demo, only problem for me is that in trade history there doesnt seem to be any S/L when trade(s) are opened.

Always a great idea to log your activity, but remember to note your emotions/how you were feeling during that session. Helps to improve and to protect you from over-trading and revenge trading. Remember your emotions are just as important as your risk management.

Good article, thanks. If you use tradingview, there is a candlestick indicator in the list. I think you could use that and choose which patterns you would like to see on your chart and then check history for a potential candlestick strategy.

Yes they are, but you have to patient and trust your system. There will always be losing trades, but in the long-run your strategy will be profitable. But where a lot of traders fail, is in the risk/money management side of things. Its good to have a winning strategy but you need a losing...

I tend to stick to GBP/USD, USD/JPY and EUR/GBP. I think sticking to just a couple of pairs is best, but each to there own. Regards
