In order to pinpoint the types of ethical issues that are most troublesome for small companies, small business owners nationwide were asked the following question: “What is the most diffi cult ethical issue that you have faced in your work?” As might be expected, the question yielded a wide variety of responses, which have been grouped into the categories shown in Exhibit 2-2.
