do they loose their money?

here is a question. if people invest in a company and the company's worth declines what happens to the money that the others invested? do they loose their money?

Of-course if company is not properly regulated or company's worth declines, it depends on the financial state of the company. If company has good financial background its fine. But if it does not have then its a big problem.
