I work more as a day trader and short-term trader, but I don't cover the possibility of positions for several days with a swing trading style, this is more about a mix of strategies.

I would recommend to try day trading first because chances of successful forecast are proportional to timeframe, for longer timeframe uncertainty (which you can't predict at all) grows which complicates predictions. Also you can't rule out shocks which are completely unpredictable. Also shorter timeframes allows for some simple technical analysis or momentum based strategies, i.e. more freedom to craft something that works.
