Is Metatrader the best platform to trade?

Are there any other platforms that allow you to customize your charts and indicators? is Meta the only platform?

Thats one of the most commonly used but you can also see Ctrader and Prorealtime

Of course not. But it has gained value because it now has so many indicators and EAs that no other platform really provides.
