Frankly, I don’t take moving average so seriously! I have 5 years of Forex trading experience. I saw that there are many regulated brokers available in market place but they are not friendly for retail traders. Their restrictions are high for retail traders and these rigid restrictions come with other security related issues. Initially, I was also aggrieved as I used a number of problem-making brokers.
For day traders, the 8- and 20-day EMAs are usually the most popular time frames, whereas the 50- and 200-day EMAs are more suitable for long-term investors. Trending markets can bring out the true benefit of moving averages when markets flat-line, which is why some moving averages cannot be used in flat markets.
