What does VPS do other than keep you online

what does vps do for a trade? If they are a trade off for the trade offs they have in place for a long term project like that they
 
I've got a really stable VM @ home with great reliability....Is the reduction in latencey really worth the cost of a VPS?

You can try BeeksFx if your EA is sensitive to speed of execution. Some brokers like HFM offer it free of charge if you meet volume requirements, so could be worth to look for similar offers.
